Who we are

Albatross Arts

Albatross Arts is an organisation that breaks down access barriers to the arts. We support people by providing inclusive, high quality creative opportunities and taking on social challenges together in order to benefit communities. We support people to explore their potential and realise the power of their own creativity.

Our Story

Everyone has an albatross holding them back from being the best version of themselves. We have a genuine interest in people and inspiring them to feel more empowered, resilient and positive about their life situation.

As an ambitious not-for-for profit Community Interest Company, we exist to make a difference. Born out of lived experience of working across the creative industries & third sector, we were founded in 2020 to address the growing need for quality arts
& wellbeing projects to address societal challenges.

Our projects support many different groups, from young people to the elderly and people struggling with mental illness, disability and social isolation.

We’re a small, professional team offering diverse skills, extensive networks and oodles of lived experience in using the arts as a discursive platform to initiate change.

Our Philosophy

Inspire change – make connections – empower people.
Creating meaningful social impact is at the heart of everything we do.

●  Inclusive: Everyone is included, everyone is supported, everyone is valued

●  Ethical: promote equal opportunities

●  Integrity: advocate and embody social leadership

●  Agents of change: share our impact to inform research & influence policy

●  Environmental: mindfully minimise our impact

“The gardener does not make a plant grow.
The job of a gardener is to create optimal conditions.”

- Sir Ken Robinson

Passionate

Our work excites us, and we’ll do everything we can to help others find the passion and creativity within themselves.

Creative

Creativity is at the heart of everything we do. We’re here to develop ideas, encourage imagination and help others reach their potential.

Ambitious

Through collaborations and partnerships, our mission is to take Albatross Arts beyond our current locale across the UK and internationally.

Fun

Without a bit of fun, how can we expect our creative sides to shine through?

corporate

We create a customised fit for your organisational needs, supporting the workforce to become more connected and resilient. Investing in the wellbeing of employees is essential to the success of organisations. More than ever, workforces are disjointed and there is a need to recreate the spontaneity of office life and the ability to connect with colleagues on a more human level.

From an inter-departmental creative collaborative project to turning your board room into a printroom for an employee family event - we love a corporate challenge!

small group private clients

Albatross Arts supports private clients to explore their potential and realise the power of their own creativity. We break down barriers and allow people to access transformational learning experiences. We provide inclusive, high quality creative opportunities, either in-person or virtually, for people within the private sector.

Our Impact

Our projects support a diverse range of groups, from young people to the elderly and people struggling with mental illness, disability and social isolation. Clients can expect to build confidence, foster friendships, learn new skills and feel included through transformational creative programming. We collaborate with research and policy making organisations to push boundaries and tackle wider social challenges.
