Our Story

Albatross Arts

Everyone has an albatross holding them back from being the best version of themselves. We have a genuine interest in people and inspiring them to feel more empowered, resilient and positive about their life situation.

As an ambitious not-for profit Community Interest Company, we exist to make a difference. Born out of lived experience of working across the creative industries & third sector, we were founded in 2020 to address the growing need for quality arts & wellbeing projects to address societal challenges

Our projects support many different groups, from young people to the elderly and people struggling with mental illness, disability and social isolation.

We’re a small, professional team offering diverse skills, extensive networks and oodles of lived experience in using the arts as a discursive platform to initiate change.

passionate

Our work excites us, and we’ll do everything we can to help others find the passion and creativity within themselves.

creative

Creativity is at the heart of everything we do. We’re here to develop ideas, encourage imagination and help others reach their potential.

ambitious

Through collaborations and partnerships, our mission is to take albatross arts beyond our current locale across the UK and internationally.

fun

Without a bit of fun, how can we expect our creative sides to shine through?

what we offer

We offer workshops, ongoing creative programming, consultancy and training to empower communities to confront and overcome social challenges and improve health and wellbeing. We work collaboratively to build solutions to deliver a positive future for some of our most vulnerable and marginalised communities. We offer a safe space for self-expression, facilitate conversations, connect individuals and enable participants to experience a greater sense of wellbeing and self-esteem. We can support individuals and organisations to confront social and environmental challenges and communicate their stories. We are not scared to tackle the big issues!

who we work with

Our work has no boundaries in terms of age, ability or background. We work with a range of Third, Fourth and Public sector organisations as well as corporate & private clients.

Through our specialist knowledge and shared ideology, we work with you and your client group to understand the challenges you wish to address and the social impact you wish to make.  We create accessible, engaging, multidisciplinary programmes that get results.

From an inter-departmental creative collaborative project to turning your board room into a printroom for an employee family event - we love a corporate challenge!
