Alex McEwan
Founder & Creative Director
Alex works full-time for the organisation as a freelancer in both her Creative Director and Creative Artist role.
Alex is a highly regarded interdisciplinary professional artist, creative project producer and creative learning consultant. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of the Arts (RSA) and of the EXTEND Leadership Programme (Engage, UK Museum & Gallery Learning Agency), with over 15 years experience in diverse educational and cross disciplinary arts settings, leading ground breaking projects, and has exhibited extensively both in the UK and internationally.

She designs, facilitates and produces opportunities, initiatives and spaces in which creative practitioners, micro-businesses and projects can realise their full artistic and business potential in line with their purpose and values. Her professional specialism and personal interest is craft and design.

Sue works for the organisation part time in an Operations Management capacity – In 2005, following a successful career leading a Global Operations team within an Investment Bank, Sue was inspired to follow her passion for supporting socially isolated communities. Having had profoundly rewarding volunteering experiences herself, she made it her goal to empower people to achieve their own ambitions. Sue brings an enviably broad suite of expertise to the company, ranging from business management and financial knowledge, alongside fundraising success from her cross over roles with the third, fourth and commercial sector. Focused, professional and empathic, Sue is the backbone of Albatross Arts CIC.

Kirsty Brown

Kirsty is a textile design graduate from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. She specialises in wet felting, though enjoy most hands on crafts, aswell as watercolour painting. Kirsty enjoys being amongst nature where she finds her inspiration, especially Scottish landscapes. She is interested in the positive affects creative activities can have on our well-being and enjoys working creatively with people of all ages.

Tracy Marshall Gorman
Visual Artists and Specialist Art Facilitator
A graduate of Glasgow School of Art, I have worked in the field of disability arts for the last 22 years. My specialist subject is Ceramics, but I work across many visual arts practices including drawing, painting, textiles and print-making. I have a vast experience of supporting others to make art, working with people of all ages and abilities. I also continue to develop my own practice, usually working in oils to produce painting in themes inspired by nature. I am also a keen roller skater and can often be found at my local roller disco!

Sarah Longfield

A creative producer, facilitator and transformational life coach. She delivers training and projects for all sorts of fabulous cultural organisations across the UK and also runs a tiny CIC called Mrs Magooty which aims to reduce social isolation through beadwork. She is passionate about participatory arts and social enterprise, which is why she is a director of Albatross.

Laura is a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art and is based in the south side of Glasgow. Although her specialism is ceramics, she relishes all aspects of art and design. Laura enjoys working with young people and loves seeing them learn new skills whilst having fun. Her own art practice is inspired by patterns and motifs from the world around us which she uses in her ceramic forms. Laura has many years of experience both in her ceramics and teaching practice and is excited to be part of the Albatross Arts team.
